Those were all pictures of the Hidden Canyon Trail (after the East Rim Trail). It was a really cool little slot canyon that you can go up for ages after the trail ends. There is some fun little rock climbing up the canyon. I think one of my favorite pictures from this hike is the one of Jordan Lynn and Josh pretending like they are going to die if they let go of the chain. If you note the other picture in the same spot... it wasn't that scary! There were some pretty narrow edges though. The arch was fun to climb on. It is free standing and is probably a mile or so up the actual canyon (I think it was about a two and a half mile hike just to the start of the canyon).
These ones were of Weeping Rock. I particularly love the picture I took of Dani... she struck that pose like she was getting paid to sell the rock or something! If you haven't been there, it is a huge wall that seeps water that is thousands of years old. There is a hanging garden as well. It is pretty cool. The picture at the very beginning is also this rock as viewed from the East Rim Trail.
These pictures were the upper, middle, and lower pools. The upper pool was the biggest (it is the yellowy one... if you look close you can see the waterfall coming down). Josh, Dani, and Maria took their shoes of to wade in the middle pool. This means that their feet water was falling on us when we passed back across the lower pool (yuck)! The stairs led to the middle pool, and this picture of Jordan Lynn and I is looking over the lower pool.
This was the first hike we did: Angel's Landing. It was pretty long and steep! You can sort of see something called Walter's Wiggles in one picture (looks like walls). Jordan Lynn was fascinated by this because some how a long time ago someone cut these twenty one switch-backs. The little canyon I am in is called Refridgerator Canyon because it stays quite cool (pretty refreshing). The famous part of Angel's Landing is the fin where you go accross half a mile holding onto chains and climbing dangerous ledges and rocks (two people have already died on it this year). Then you come to a landing at the top. Jordan Lynn and Josh of course had to venture down the edge which I did not like. Then Josh was standing on that rock that was on top of Angel's Landing... it was right on the edge and he thought he was going to fall about a thousand feet when he put his arms out (Sorry, Sarah, I probably shouldn't have let him climb up there... but he is still alive :) ).
i want to go there now! looks so cool.
