May Family Photos/Blessing Dress

Emarie is now 6 months old, eating solid foods, sitting, and rocking on her knees.  I can't believe she is growing up so fast!  I have a ton of pictures I should post, but I thought I would add a couple of older photo shoots first.  Hopefully I will add more recent ones soon!

Just before Mother's Day we took some pictures to give to our moms.  I thought they turned out pretty well considering Jordan took them all with the timer and tripod!  Emarie was 4 months old in these pictures. 

We also took some pictures of Emarie in her blessing dress.  She was 3 months old in these.  We had to wait about a month after she was actually blessed because she had a rash from her 2 month shots.

So it has been a while since I had posted some pictures of Emarie. These fist two are on her blessing day. The weather was great and she looked so cute in her pretty white dress.

These are some pictures of the cute little chicken nugget. I put her in a laundry basket to see what she would do. Within a few minutes she was asleep.

I am really excited to get my new camera so I can get some better shots of her. She is growing so fast and learning new things all the time. Just the other day she figured out how to roll over. It is pretty darn fun having her around. She is a really happy baby and she loves to smile. More pictures coming soon, once I get my new camera figured out!

New addition, Makes Jordan Squared + 1

The date was January 5th 2012. It was a wonderful Thursday morning with the temperature close to 40 degrees, and the sun shining bright in Logan. Jordan Paige went to work as usual and around 8:10AM she received an inconvenient but welcoming surprise. Jordan had noticed that she was not peeing her pants but rather the cinematic detailed example of the water breaking was happening at work. (how embarrassing) She then gathered her belongings and left for home. Jordan Lynn (at work) received a call from his sweet drear wife informing him it was time to go. Jordan Lynn Left work quickly and returned home to find Jordan Paige calmly wandering around the house. Jordan Paige took a shower while Jordan Lynn gathered stuff for the hospital. By 10:00AM they arrived and were greeted with 1 million questions including things from "how are you planning on paying for this" to "Are you going to name her Jordan". Around 3:00pm Jordan Paige decided that no epidural was among life's poorest choices, and opted for the pain to go away. After a few more somewhat painless hours it was now time to "push". The next 50 minutes seemed to go very quickly for everyone but Jordan Paige. The pinnacle moment of this whole ordeal was when 7lb 5oz, 20.5in, cutest thing you have ever seen, baby Emarie May Bartholomew was introduced as the newest addition to the Jordan Squared family.

December 2011

We had a sibling breakfast to exchange gifts. Sadly, Josh ended up having to work and Sheena, Josh Z, and Ryker weren't able to make it. The rest of us had a good time though. The food wasn't amazing, but we had a good time visiting. And then because we were sick of being in the restaurant and it was cold outside we all sat in Sarah's car and opened gifts. The kids thought that was pretty fun! The Johnsons got us a fun game set which we have actually been playing quite a bit (I even beat Jordan Lynn at checkers!). Then there is a picture of Jordan Lynn and I in front of the Christmas tree in our living room and then a couple of me in the baby's room. I made the valance (it took me way longer than it should have, but I love how it turned out), and Jordan made the tree. He actually cut down a real tree, grafted some of the branches so it would fit nicely in the corner, wired it up with LED lights, spray painted it, and then put the leaves and butterflies on one by one. It turned out really cute! By the way, for those of you still wondering, our baby girl is due January 5th. It is looking like she probably won't come until after that date, but we will see!

Summer 2011

In June we went to Lake Powell with the my family (Curtis). That was a lot of fun! I thought I would be sick but luckily my morning sickness subsided about the same time. We did a lot of hiking and looking at ruins for the three days Jordan and I were there. We went up Cathedral in the Desert, and I somehow managed to climb up a cliff that was about 25 feet. After we went up and got back to the cliff the only way to get back down was to lower myself down on a rope. Josh went down before me and Jordan stayed at the top. Somehow I managed not to let go of the rope and made it down. I never regained all of my strength from the surgery and hospitalization at the beginning of the year before I got pregnant, and then I was sick all the time, so it was pretty amazing that I managed it! On one of the hikes we ended up having to swim back through some really disgusting stinky water that was boiling with carp. I tied a bandanna around my nose and Sarah and I (both having weak stomachs) were amazed that we made it through. Everyone that was there: Sandy, Gene, Sarah, Josh, Bridger, Kenna, Whitney, and Dani. One of the days was pretty cold and stormy, but for the most part it was pretty awesome!

In August Jordan Lynn rode in the Cache Century with his friend and 1st councilor in the Young Men, Aaron Godfrey. It was the first bike race either of them had done, and it was a 100 miles! They did so good! In July the Young Men went on a trip through Yellowstone when they did about 150 miles in four days.

For my birthday at the end of August Jordan Lynn blew up a ton of balloons! I was quite surprised! After I played in them for a while I went to a foot zoning appointment he had set up for me and then we went to dinner.

In September we went to Island Park with Sarah, Josh, and the kids. It was so much fun! We haven't really had a chance to spend much time with my Grandma and her husband Merlin since we have been married. We are hoping to make it a yearly trip! Jordan and Josh went fishing a few times, we went to Big Springs, and drove through Yellowstone and then stopped in West. Sarah was still on crutches after her hip replacement, and since I was obviously pregnant we were quite a pair walking around - we got free ice cream and all of the cars stopped for us. We thought it was pretty funny! She was quite the trooper! I need to get pictures still from Sarah, since we didn't really take any.

Other Updates

We continue working on our house... we have the big projects generally done... someday I will have pictures. For now, I just have pictures of the headboard Jordan Lynn made. It looks really good on our bed against our purple wall! Also, we celebrated our 3 year anniversary in December (Jordan Lynn got me so beautiful roses). Thanksgiving with the Curtis family was a lot of fun, and Christmas with the Bartholomews. Then January (as you most likely know if you are reading this) involved a surgery for me (Jordan Paige) consisting of a tonsilectomy, septoplasty, and turbinate reduction. The recovery from the surgery I guess didn't go too well, because the Sunday following the surgery (which was on wed. Jan. 12) Jordan Lynn found me basically gone. Melanie rushed over and called 911. I didn't like the ambulance much because I was by that point somewhat conscious and they wouldn't let me write a note (I couldn't talk) and they just kept poking me with needles! Anyway, I spent several hours in the ER, a night in the ICU, and was in the hospital for the rest of the week (I literally didn't get released until Saturday). I had been extremely dehydrated and had a bad case of pneumonia. I am doing good now, though, and feel pretty much back to normal. I still don't like needles and blood (by the way, the poking persisted all through the week with a stab of blood thinners in the stomach every morning to wake me in addition to all of the IV's and blood tests!). The good news is that I can actually breath through my nose now, so at least the surgery worked! Thanks to all for the flowers/plants, cards, visits, calls, and prayers!

Halloween

For Halloween this last year we decided to go with Alice in Wonderland. Jordan Lynn was the Mad Hatter and Jordan Paige was Alice (sorry, we didn't get pictures of that), and the White Rabbit the next night for our ward party. We used a lot of make-up...
